The early part of the day's trail was confusing at best. We packed up camp in a dense soupy mist that morning as siamang gibbons (Symphalangus syndactylus) howled and hooted off to the south. The day began with an arduous five-hour long journey from Kuala Betis in the back of a 4WD vehicle.
