Promontory Lake campsite is located on the south-eastern side of the lake and is reached only after walking around the eastern side of the lake from the north. The campsite is basically a few small clearings that are poorly sheltered by the hills to the west. It is best to select toilet sites that are as far away as possible from the lake to prevent contamination of the catchment area.
There are also rough campsites that are located at Lake Vesta and Lake Juno that can be found before reaching Promontory Lake. These are probably better options if you are choosing to exit the range via Kappa Moraine.
