ABC Day 09 - Annapurna Base Camp
Back to MBC
The small viewing area that overlooked the South Annapurna Glacier was completely packed with people, so I once again left a little hurriedly and began my descent. Plenty of other hikers were still on their way up, and they all looked very perplexed when they saw me descending. On the way down, I decided to have a little fun and ran down some of the sections of the snow-covered trail, testing my shoes on the slippery terrain as I did. My Salomon X-Ultra 3 GTX (reviewed here) shoes held up surprisingly well in the snow, but as expected, lost a lot of their traction each and every time I encountered patches of ice.
